In this post, I am going to give my suggestions on How to make every day a Happy Day.


First of all, I would like to remind you that Happiness is a choice, therefore we need to have made the decision to be a happy person.

Once we have made that decision, I mean a proper decision to live a happy life and not just a wish, we need to improve our “happy level” .

How? Our life is a string of moments, so we can just easily increase the happiness moments in our life.

Remember: Happiness comes from within

We need to keep in mind that during any day, obviously “bad unexpected things” can happen. We can’t be immune to that, but we can learn to control our reactions.

Also the more we are “fit” mentally and physically the betHow to live happy day quoteter we can overcome any situation.

Write it on your Heart that every day is the Best Day of the Year.


So what can we do to live a happy day no matter what?

Before I go through my suggestions I would like to tackle a question that I have been asked many times.

“How can I have a happy day if:” “I hate my job, I don’t like my colleagues, I don’t have money, I am in debt, I have got  a medical  problem, my daughter is ill etc.”

The point is: if we are in a situation we don’t like but potentially we can change it then we need to do something about that.

We need to take action, we need to learn not be afraid to change for the better. It can take time but if we really work for it, we will succeed.

If our situation can not be changed at the moment, or can’t be changed at all, then we need to be patient and change our attitude.

Happiness is an attitude of mind. We need to accept it and try to look at the positive side of it and, believe me, there is always one. Not because we can’t see any positive side, it means that there isn’t. We can’t allow ourselves to be miserable all the time. If we do, we don’t love ourselves enough. We need to push ourselves to be happy, learn and practice things that make us feel better and happier.

There are things we need to understand that are not good for us, therefore we need to get rid of them and also replace them with some good habits.


Having LOVE in our life can help us to be happy

Happiness and loveLove is one of the most powerful forces in the universe and certainly is a must ingredient in our life if we want to be happy.

The first step is to love ourselves and our body before we can love someone else.

In fact, Happiness is feeling good about who we are, be able to accept ourselves how we physically are, our body should be treated as our temple since thanks to our body we are able to live our life. Only when things start going wrong and we have some healthy issue, do we realize how important  our body is. There are some fundamental and basic steps to follow if we really care about our body, but unfortunately, they can be easy put aside and not giving the right importance.

Sometimes when we start following these simple suggestions they can have a strong positive impact in our life.

  • Eat well, we are what we eat.

  • Sleep the right amount of time.

  • Do some daily physical activity. 20 minutes of walking.

  • Get rid of some bad habits that can abuse our body (smoking, drinking, bad addictions). If you need some help, don’t be afraid to ask for professional help.

  • Another important way to be happy is to dedicate some time during the day to ourselves, to do something that we really like, could be anything but must be our time.

Once we start loving ourselves it becomes much easier to love someone else.

Having a partner, can add love in our life, but having love in our life could be, any kind of love:

  • Love our friends

  • Love our family and children

  • Love our job

  • Love our hobby

  • Love our pets.

If we give space for love in our life it can certainly make our life much happier and when Love is missing in our life, it’s more likely we are unhappy.

Happy peopleEven if I totally agree with the following quote, “If you make friends with yourself you’ll never be alone” I am absolutely convinced that we need to have friends and we need to spend time with people, but not just with some people, they must be the right people for us.

What I mean is that the people we spend time with, must be people that make us feel good, appreciate us and respect us.

“True friends are like stars, you don’t always see them but they are always there.”

“Fake friends are like shadows: always near you at your brightest moments, but nowhere to be seen at your darkest hour”.

Since I started choosing the people around me, my life has improved, so choose your friends wisely.

Surround yourself with positive people and you’ll be a positive person.

So even if we are happy with ourselves, it’s never really good to isolate ourselves from society. We need to find our “tribe”, in other words, people suitable to us, we need to have good friends!

Spending time with people can help, us to learn and grow.

Having a PURPOSE in Life can help us to be Happy

I personally realized that having a purpose gives you an entirely new vision in life.

When I decided that I wanted a purpose in my life it took me a while to understand what purpose I wanted, so I took my time in making my decision.

Then finally I decided that my purpose would have been “be happy in life” and later I decide to start helping people, that were struggling like I was, to be happy as well. I believe that was the best decision I made in my life.

There are two ways to live our life, the first, which is the one chosen by most people, is to live a life without a purpose, the second is to define your purpose and live by it.

I can say that I tried both ways to live my life and I found the second one is definitely more fulfilling and that lead to a happy life.

Benefits of having a purpose in life

  • Makes you feel more fulfilled

  • It creates your daily life with enthusiasm and joy

  • It gives you direction and focus.

  • It helps you understand what is unimportant for you in life and it frees you from things that don’t matter

  • It helps you to gain your success.

We all want to achieve success in life but we all have a different meaning of success. There are people that want be rich, famous, important or have a nice job, a nice family. But if we stop and think the reasons why we all want to reach our success is to be happy. Yes, the main reason why we want to achieve our success is because it makes us happy.

So do you have a purpose in life? If not, there is no need to worry, you can still find your purpose in life.

I personally found doing something good to help people is very rewarding and it definitely makes me feel very good and happy.

As we have seen in step 3 Happiness is a state of mind, and is created by positive and good emotions. All we need to do then is to create positive and good emotions, and doing something good is definitely one of them.

So don’t be afraid of doing something good and when you do, most of all, don’t expect anything back because we are likely to be disappointed.

You already get your reward when you see the reactions from the people you have helped.

Do something GOOD to the others, can make you happyHas it ever happened to you? If not why don’t you give it a go and you will see it for yourself.

Spiritual Engagement can help be Happy

It’s quite common that people follow spiritual paths and join religious organizations primarily to become happier and interestingly enough, studies demonstrate a close link between religious and spiritual engagement (practice) and happiness.

I personally followed a spiritual path, which I started years ago when I discovered Reiki.

I also love practicing Yoga.

Spirituality and prayer also provide people with an opportunity to engage in a meditative act, meditation has been shown to have a strong link with well-being because it calms the body, reduces stress and anxiety, and also supports positive thinking.

Meditation now is part of my daily life and having seen all the benefits of meditation, I can’t see myself not meditating.
