20 Simple but effective tips on how to make every day a happy day

Author: Duccio

In this post, I am going to give my suggestions on How to make every day a Happy Day.

First of all, I would like to remind you that Happiness is a choice, therefore we need to have made the decision to be a happy person.

Once we have made that decision, I mean a proper decision to live a happy life and not just a wish, we need to improve our “happy level” .

How? Our life is a string of moments, so we can just easily increase the happiness moments in our life.

Remember: Happiness comes from within

We need to keep in mind that during any day, obviously “bad unexpected things” can happen. We can’t be immune to that, but we can learn to control our reactions.

Also the more we are “fit” mentally and physically the betHow to live happy day quoteter we can overcome any situation.

Write it on your Heart that every day is the Best Day of the Year.

So what can we do to live a happy day no matter what?

Before I go through my suggestions I would like to tackle a question that I have been asked many times.

“How can I have a happy day if:” “I hate my job, I don’t like my colleagues, I don’t have money, I am in debt, I have got  a medical  problem, my daughter is ill etc.”

The point is: if we are in a situation we don’t like but potentially we can change it then we need to do something about that.

We need to take action, we need to learn not be afraid to change for the better. It can take time but if we really work for it, we will succeed.

If our situation can not be changed at the moment, or can’t be changed at all, then we need to be patient and change our attitude.

Happiness is an attitude of mind. We need to accept it and try to look at the positive side of it and, believe me, there is always one. Not because we can’t see any positive side, it means that there isn’t. We can’t allow ourselves to be miserable all the time. If we do, we don’t love ourselves enough. We need to push ourselves to be happy, learn and practice things that make us feel better and happier.

There are things we need to understand that are not good for us, therefore we need to get rid of them and also replace them with some good habits.

DAY SIX, TIP 6 PART 1 of 2:

# 6 Appreciate Simple Things

During the day appreciate simple things, because the most simple things can bring the most happiness.

Appreciate simple things can definitely help us to be happy.

I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.  Laura Ingalls Wilder

Step 6 – Tips how to create a happiness state of mind

So here we are at step six of “How to Be Happy”, my 7 steps suggestions in finding Happiness.

So far we have learned that:

Now I would like to talk about other ways that can help us to create and keep up our  state of mind of happiness.

APPRECIATE SIMPLE THINGS can definitely help us to be happy.

Happy natureWe live in a modern capitalist society that makes us give importance to materialistic things to be happy so we keep buying not because we really need it but just to feel good. In this way, someone is getting a financially gain while we get just an illusionist and temporarily pleasure and this chain will never end…We keep buying new stuff and more stuff and more stuff, but we are not really happy and probably we end up not even appreciating what we have.

Instead if we can’t afford to buy certain things, we get unhappy but why? Because anyone else has got what we want except us… and it might make us feel different even inferior…

What I am trying to say is that, if we can afford to buy new stuff all the time, is fine but we shouldn’t expect any kind of Happiness from there, but just pleasure, which is fine but as I said previously Pleasure is temporary happiness lasts.

There are a lot of simple and free things that if appreciated can make us happy: a smile from a stranger, a hug from someone we care about, the sounds of the birds singing and so on.

The reason why we don’t normally pay attention to these simple things is that we don’t notice them.

But why don’t we notice them? It is because our attention is focused on our thoughts, which are focused on something that has happened in the past or something that has still to come. Basically, we are not living the present and therefore our attention is not focused on our surroundings. Remember the importance of living in the present, which I talked about in the previous step?

We should also start appreciating the beauty of nature, it can even help us to gain awareness and connection to our surrounding world.

“It’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary.”  Paulo Coelho

Having a POSITIVE MINDSET can help us to be happy

think positive to be happy

We have seen before that happiness is a state of mindcreated by good and positive emotions so if we want to be a happy person we need to create a positive mind.

A negative mind doesn’t certainly create happiness, that’s why to be happy we need to create a positive mindset.

Having a positive mindset doesn’t mean that we don’t have any negative feelings or emotions, this certainly will never happen. It means not to dwell on negative feelings but try to be positive most of the time.

But how can we create a positive mindset? It all starts with our thoughts, they create our emotions and even if sometimes we don’t realize they create our life.
