Taking vitals daily and keeping the info in a log is invaluable. You will be armed with information about what is “normal” for your loved one when they are stable and can tell doctors or hospital personnel if something is “off.”

Back to basics: The last thing you need to worry about on your way to the ER is if you have everything. Gather supplies ahead of time, get a pretty bag and stock it full of supplies you might need if you’re stuck in the ER for hours on end.
