My Monday, 4/13/15

My Monday was way above and beyond anything me or my back pain could handle.  In fact, when I started this post (which I worked on for two days) I was up to 1,456 words and not even done.  So I decided to shorten it and here it is,

3:30am Woke up due to back pain spend next hour trying to get the shooting electrical pain going from my mid to right foot to stop.

4:30am Worked on getting the blogs quotes up to date.

5:00am Went through emails to start day fresh.

5:30am Showered and get ready for the day.

5:50am Feed dogs (3) and since expresso machines dead, off to “SB’s” for Mocha and 5 shot Conpanna w/ Caramel (x4) and whip.

6:15am Prepare Robert’s (BIL w/ Epilepsy, lives here) breakfast & lunch (day program).  Make his bed.

7:30am Keep eye on Robert while he eats in case of seizures, falls, etc.

7:45am Help Robert with last minute details and get him into the car.

8:15am Take Robert to day program.

9:00am Grocery store for “wait for it, wait for it” Yes Groceries.

10:00-11:15am After unloading groceries, playing fetch and tug-o-war with Taz for awhile I get a text that to place offer on new house realtor (Matt) he needs documents (docs) signed and back by 12:15pm.

To do this I need to meet up with Matt sign then get Trish to somehow sign.  OKAY, so here’s what we decided.

11:30am Go to Trish’s office where docs were emailed, sign them with Trish, the she will scan and send back by 12pm. “Completed by 11:50.”

1:30-2:45pm Need to drive 35min to Kaiser in Roseville to attend a vericous vein class.  Then meeting with one of the vericous vein surgeons. Come to find out my main issue is not even related to vericous veins but to a valve that’s not working and inturn (back up of fluid) pushed this vein toward the top layer of skin and after blowing four times over two years it won’t heal, now what?  Find out in a future blog post.

3:15pm Appointment with my Pain Management Clinic to obtain new scripts of all my Meds.  In the end my workmans compensation insurance company releases the scripts on three different days, four days apart.

4:30pm Drop of handwritten scripts to CVS which should allow then to obtain approvals and I can be back on the Meds by day’s end.

6-6:45pm Fight with CVS because was told by pharmacist (pharm) that the scripts would be filled by 6pm now here I am again trying to figure out why I’m not heading home with “All” my Meds?  The excuse I’m being feed is that pharm A didn’t do what they should have and now my prescriptions are delayed at a time I need them most, right when my Intrathecal catheter pump is slowing down because I’m coming up on the end of its fill and am scheduled to have it refilled end of next week.  Finally, 45 minutes later I am way to tired to argue and just need to get home eat, stretch, stretch and a pack of ice.

7:00pm Dinner

7:20-7:45pm Separate out Meds into their various Containers.

In realty, with my back pain I usually can only handle 15-20 minutes at a time of each standing and sitting or else my pain level raises to the point where I need, yet avoid taking another pain pill and today I more or less ran the entire day (16-1/2 hours) and only had an hour downtime from 11:15am and 12:15pm.  If it wasn’t my medications refill time and/or we we not in the process of moving, everything would be different.  This story just proves that we cannot control what or when things happen, that we just need to realize that life is too short to stress.  Relax, smell a rose or two.
