Secret Santa, 12/25/14

Mom has been dealing with her normal heart issues, depression and more and in the most recent hospital admissions they found out that when she is up and moving her heart rate (HR) spikes as her blood pressure (BP) drops in turn reducing the amount of oxygen going to her brain, causing her to be overly tired, sleeping more than normal, depressed, etc. This most recent stay came at the time when mom usually decorates her house, finish’s her shopping and wraps. None of which was done until this past weekend when Mark (older brother) and his wife Susan came up and took her on a full day shopping trip. Still no decorations and her wrapping started last night.

Here’s where the Secret Santa comes in. This morning while showering I mentioned to Trish that next year on Christmas we need to go over to moms, set up a tree and leave a few gifts go her to wake up to on Christmas morning, something told me, “here we go,”.

I was right.

By the time I was done and getting dressed, I heard a voice say, “Your doing this, I already have everything ready for you. So here I go,

Christmas Day (12/25/14) 5:52am, I’m heading to moms in Santa’s Northern California sleigh a 2006 Ford Escape (not Christmas Red, sorry).

I arrive at moms and as suspected, she’s sound asleep. Start setting it up and realize, trees missing two of its needed three base legs so I have to find something to support the tree or stand it on its 2″ round base, oh and I forgot to grab an extension cord to attach to the trees little 6” power cord. Either way I set up the tree, with any ornaments the tree is way to top heavy so I wrap the base with a red wrap, put on two (at the same time) very light ornaments lay out her gifts and the card from her friend Beverly, turn off the house lights and lock up. Now all we have to do is wait for her call.
