Today’s, Sundays Solutions is about problems and how do you repair them. We look forward to reading your issue and your solution. Feel free to forward this on to a friend, coworker or family member who you feel has the answer to a problem.
Question:
What is an issue that your having or had, that you need a solution for or that you’ve found the solution to? I’m sure someone is out there that is having the same issue and is looking for a solution, your solution may be the one they need.
My Answer:
My issue was keeping things organized with all moms appointments. In the span of a week mom had a stroke and three days later a heart attack. This took us to see her general practitioner, neurologist, speech therapist, physical therapist, x-ray, MRI’s , CT Scans to just name a few and this went on for a year or more. The solution, a 3-Ring binder with section separators, which we called “Mom’s Medical Book of Wonders”. The first section was her contact, insurance and family contact information as well as medications, allergies and medication that did nothing for her. Section two covered all her appointments, in order of appearance. Section three consisted of MRI scans, x-rays, etc. again in order. The fourth section was all the business cards, medical contacts, therapist numbers, etc. Since August 2007 we are now in volume three of this binder. I also (2 -3 years into the binder) copied everything onto a 64 gig USB drive which I keep in my glove box in case I’m out and have to get her to the hospital ER.
Answer 2:
Along with the USB version of moms paperwork and because mom’s primary hospital (retired military)is 75-85 minutes away, I have in my car 24/7/365 a “To Go Bag.” Which is a small duffle bag with three days worth of cloths and toiletries, even three days of my meds, for when I have to run I don’t want to worry about getting home and packing, it’s already done.
Please leave as long or short of a note you would like. Any and all solutions welcome from incontinence, bathing, changing cloths, eating issues, anything. As caregivers we have all seen and done it. I am a caregiver for my mother, co-care for my brother in-law who also lives with us and am due to chronic back pain I am a caree myself . Thank you for taking the time to not only read but respond also.
