Buddha Body

Time has progressed past the point I allowed myself to get back to or as close to my original 175-180 lbs. (+5 is OK) weight as possible.  As I have said in earlier post with regard to me and my weight that prior to the accident which caused my back injury, Damn Drunk Driver (3D), I was 175-1/2 lbs, worked out 3-4 days a week for 1-1/2 to 2 hr per workout and had a size 34 waist and 40 chest.

Buddha Body

Once the accident happened I was unable to workout or get my heart rate up to anything about that of a snail crawling through the mud’s pace.  I was unable to bend due to neck and back braces, no running because every normal step sent horrible pain shooting throughout my body.  No cardio, No stretching, No well nothing.  With this hold up my weight soared to 260 (muscle turned to fat), waist 48, chest 44.  I have fought to get my weight down to at least below 200, but 175-180 lbs. would be even better.  This fight has been going on now for 20 years, 3 months, 2 weeks and 2 days.

Recently I finally found a stationary bike for my wife to go in our daughters old room which we are looking to make into an exercise/meditation room.  I’m still trying to locate a treadmill which was my choice of machines.   After several weeks after the bike arriving damaged and then getting the wrong part in and then the new part in, the bike is repaired and working (Yes, I did the repairs).   Right after I ordered the bike, in fact it was being shipped to us when this happened, a friend of ours in Florida, yes I’m talking about you Chris (@thebowtieguy) started a weight loss program to be able to fit back into a very important Purple Jacket which he would like to do on our upcoming Caregiving.com’s Bahama Cruise, November 11-15, 2013. I took his path to heart and am also going to set a goal to work harder, smarter and better on my own path to the weight level I want to be at and have set my goal for November 8th, 2013 the day before we leave for the cruise.

I have teetered between 195 -198 for the past two weeks.  I only need min 15 lbs gone in about 10.5 weeks or 1.4 lbs. a week.  I have the stationary bike, I have the will, I have the water weight, I have the strength, I have the pain, I have……..  Well I have, NO PAIN NO GAIN.  I’m not doing this to look like Tom Cruise or Arnold “I’ll be Fit.”  I’m doing this for my own health, my future, my life and for my family.  If I can just lose this weight, that will be 15 lbs. of fat off my Buddha Belly , that’s where the roll is folks, I calls them like I see them and boy can you see it.  I think of it like this, a Thanksgiving Turkey off my plate of pain, three (5 lb) bags of sugar for all that Christmas baking we did that caused “part” of this belly to begin with.  You know that when in pain it causes some of us to eat, well I ate.

So as of today August 27, 2013, I am going to do the same as Chris in Florida and start my own weight loss venture and ask you all to give me support, encouragement, kind words, or just anything that helps keep me going, a joke here, a giggle there and don’t be afraid to poke them at me, I can take, I hope.  Thank you all for taking the time to read my blogs, especially this one because without all of you, PickYourPain.org would be just another diary.
